Welcome Home Terrorists....
Don't take me otherwise, but isn't it funny that whenever bomb blasts happen somewhere, the rest of the country or should I say the other metro cities go on a high alert mode.
We suddenly start talking about safety issues, CCTV cameras not working,no verficiations and checking etc etc.. My point is why now?
When some 12 people have already lost their lives and other few are battling for theirs in hospitals.Do we always need such cruel reality checks before waking up to the harsh reality that 'our country cannot provide us with basic security'
Its only after a tragedy that we realize we don't have the basics in place and the irony of the situation is that we all forget it once the aftermath of the blasts die down. We have seen it so many time, be it Delhi, Bombay, Pune, Hyderabad, imagine the metro cities are so vulnerable; I am scared to even imagine the situation in the samller cities.
But arn't we also really responsible for making us so vulnerable.Just taking a small example, even after yesterday's bomb scare and explsives found in Cant are of Delhi, the city was not really on a high alert mode and to be honest it never is.
There are no security checks in place ever, I am never checked, my bags are never checked even when I go to the best and the most posh malls of Delhi. Why malls, there isn't proper checking of bags when entering movie halls, hospitals and other public places. Even when I went to park my car in the biggest multiple- level parkings in the city, my car was never checked, so imagine how easy it is for anyone to access these places... Then why blame foreign hands.
Why only malls, off late I went to the biggest markets of Delih, Nehru Place, Karol Bagh, G.K, there was absolutely no checking, no poice personnel around the police post. With about thousands of people thronging to these markets, planting explosives here is a cake walk. But why bother till some more people are blown up, isnt it?
Its like giving free access to terrorists and then crying on why it happend?
The best Govt. does is, announces a compensation for the kin of the dead...WOW. So guess the only way we will always be on a high alert is keep having these blasts around. India anyway has never learnt from its mistakes on time.
