Ever tried getting an LPG gas cylinder when you realize that your gas cylinder suddenly decides to finish? Picture this you have guests turning up for dinner and then in desperation you call up your LPG gas agency only to be told that the delivery period of the cylinder is any where between 3 days to a week! I was left with no choice but to call up my nearest black marketer to deliver the goods immediately. But there is a high price for convenience and quick delivery in this country and who better than the smug bootlegger to know that. With gas cylinders costing as high as Rs 900, black marketers know that there is a demand which is why they have hiked the price of the supply. And the high demand for gas cylinders will remain as long as gas agencies have shoddy service and a deficit of cylinders. It’s a vicious circle indeed.
