Ever since Karan Johar tweeted about 'Dangal' being the best film in a decade, there was immense interest about the film amongst Bollywood insiders as well as the audience. And when the trailer of 'Dangal' came out, it broke records, just as the film is breaking records after its release.
'Dangal' is turning out to be a huge hit at the box-office, not just with the masses but even the critics. The movie, that was shot over a period of two years has already garnered 155 crores in just 6 days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently tweeted 'Dangal's' latest figures. He said, "#Dangal Fri 29.78 cr, Sat 34.82 cr, Sun 42.35 cr, Mon 25.48 cr, Tue 23.07 cr. Total: ? 155.53 cr. India biz. AWESOME!" He also added, "#Dangal crosses ? 150 cr on Day 5 [Tue]... Now racing towards ? 200 cr... Continues its EXTRAORDINARY run on weekdays... India biz."
And 'Dangal' is not only breaking records in India, but even in the International market the film is going strong. It has already earned 76 crores from the overseas market and is also the highest grossing film in North America. The record for this feat was previously held by Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom-3'
After earning 155 crores in just six days, Dangal is churning out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. The film is raring to join the mammoth 300-crore club and is in close competition with Salman Khan's 'Sultan'. But can Dangal manage to overtake Aamir Khan's previous dream run at the box-office, 'PK'? Only time will tell.
