What is online admission Process?

3.1 The online admission process for FYJC classes is applicable to all the recognized junior colleges in MMR, and their participation in this process is compulsory. 3.2 Students, who have passed SSC or equivalent examination from any recognized board, seeking admissions to FYJC classes in any of the junior colleges in MMR, must participate in the online admission process. 3.3 Admissions to Arts, Science, and Commerce streams shall be done online. However, following admissions shall not be done online.
  • Admissions to HSC Vocational (MCVC), Home Science,
  • Admisson to Management quota, Minority quota, & In-house quota shall be done by the respective Junior Colleges.
  • Admissions to Technical Junior Colleges shall be done by the respective Technical Junior Colleges.
  • Admissions to Night Junior Colleges shall be done by the respective Night Junior Colleges.
3.4 Online admissions shall be done as per the rules under the constitutional and special reservation policy in force. 3.5 Seats in junior colleges are allocated as per the merit and order of preferences of the applicants; however, choice of optional subjects/optional languages / bifocal subjects in a junior college is subject to availability of seats for that optional subject/optional language / bifocal subjects in that junior college. 3.6 Processing fee of Rs. 150/ (Rs. One Hundred and Fifty only) - including cost of this booklet - shall be collected from the student participating in the online admission process. Any student, who fails at the std. X examination of March 2012, is entitled for a refund of Rs. 125/ - after deducting Rs.25 towards the cost of this booklet - from the Head of the concerned school.

Phases and steps

Phase-I (Application Form)
  • Purchase information booklet from school / guidance center
  • Read it carefully before filling sample form
  • Find Login ID and Password in the booklet
  • Visit your school to understand the procedure
  • Visit the website http://fyjc.org.in/mumbai
  • Log in using 'login ID' and 'password' given in information booklet for first login.
  • Change the password, and keep in your mind for your next logins
  • Add security questions, keep the answers in your mind
  • Take printout of all credentials
  • Follow screen instructions and proceed with the online application step by step
  • Confirm your application form.
  • Applicants with any grievance or correction in data, Get the form and documents approved from school or guidance center
  • Applicants other than open category or open category applicants claiming any reservation, get the form and documents approved from school or guidance center
Phase II Option Form
  • Add your stream wise options for colleges in the 'Option Form'.
  • Check and confirm your 'Option Form'.
Phase III Admission Process
  • After declaration of result, first merit list published.
  • If you are allocated a college, secure your admission in allocated college.
  • You will get a betterment chance only ones in any oen of the successive rounds and remain in online admission process.
  • If you are not allocated a college in the first merit list, wait for next merit list.
  • If you are allocated a college but you do not secure admission, You will be out of Process.
  • Second merit list published.
  • If you are allocated better college in betterment round then Cancel admission from previous college and take admission in the new college.

Documents to be submitted at the time of Admission

Applicants are required to submit the following documents (as applicable) at the time of admission.

For Sports: Applicants should possess any one of the following certificates obtained while studying in standards VIII, IX, & X.

(Ref. G.R. No. HSC/1707 (222/07)/UMASHI-1 dated 25th March 2010).

  • Original Marks List of std. X or equivalent examination
  • Original School Leaving Certificate. Applicants from ICSE, CBSE, IGCSE, IB Boards are required to get their Original School Leaving Certificates endorsed overleaf by the Education Inspector/ Education Officer of their area. Applicants from outside Maharashtra State are required to get their Original School Leaving Certificates endorsed overleaf by the Education Officer of their district. For more details they should contact the Heads of their schools.
  • Application for eligibility: (For applicants passing from other than Maharashtra State SSC Board). An application for eligibility (available with respective junior college office) along with necessary documents as described in the application.
  • Original Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority appointed by the State of Maharashtra (if applicable). Please note that the quota against constitutional reservations is available only to the applicants originated & domiciled in Maharashtra State. It is not available for applicants originating from outside the Maharashtra State.
  • Sports, Art & Culture (if applicable).
  • Certificate showing that the student has secured first or Second position at the District/State/National level. This certificate should be authenticated by the District Sports Officer or Zonal Sports Deputy Director, in the prescribed form given in this booklet on page... Or,
  • Certificate showing that the student has won Medal at the zonal level or the certificate showing that the student has participated in the State/National level competitions organized by the Indian Schools games Association or Indian Games Authority. This certificate should be authenticated by the District Sports Officer or Zonal Sports Deputy Director, in the prescribed form given in this booklet on page... Or,
  • Certificate showing that the student has won Medal at the State level or the student has participated in the State/National level competitions organized by the Indian Olympic Association or Maharashtra Olympic Association. This certificate should be authenticated by the District Sports Officer or Zonal Sports Deputy Director, in the prescribed form given in this booklet on page 14.

For Art & Culture: Applicants should possess any one of the following certificates. The above certificates should be authenticated by the competent authority in the office of the Directorate of Art & Culture in the prescribed form given in this booklet on page 14 (Ref. G.R. No. HSC/1707 (222/07)/UMASHI-1 dated 25th March 2010).
  • Certificate showing passing of the examination in Music/Dance conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Or,
  • Certificate awarded for wining the prize for Acting in the Bal Natya Competition conducted by the Directorate of Art & Culture.
For Servicemen: Service Certificate. For Ex-Servicemen: Discharge Certificate or, Certificate issued by District Sainik Board.
  • Wards of the Employees of State Government/Central Government/Private Sector coming on transfer in the MMR (if applicable): Original Certificate showing transfer of the employee from outside MMR to MMR on or after 1st October 2010. Further, the ward must have passed std. X or equivalent examination from a school outside MMR.(Ref. G.R. No. HSC/1097(1444/97)/UMASHI-1 dated 25th March 2010)
  • Wards of Servicemen and Ex-Servicemen (if applicable):
  • Wards of Freedom Fighters (if applicable): Applicants who are dependent on the freedom fighters and are so nominated by the freedom fighters, must submit a certificate issued by the District Collector to that effect.(Ref. G.R. No. HSC/1097(1444/97)/UMASHI-1 dated 25th March 2010)
  • Physically handicapped (if applicable): Certificate issued by the Civil Surgeon or the Medical Officer of any government/municipal hospital, showing at least 40% disability. Students with learning disability must produce a certificate issued by the competent authority.

Rules for Admission

4.1 Students passing Std X examination of Maharashtra State SSC Board or an equivalent examination (qualifying examination) are eligible for admissions to FYJC Classes. Marks scored at this examination shall be the sole basis for admissions to FYJC Classes. 4.2 Students scoring a minimum of 40% marks in the science subjects at the qualifying examination are eligible for admissions to FYJC Science. 4.3 There shall be no interview or test prior to admissions to FYJC classes. 4.4 As per the circular of the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Pune, No. RA Man/Papui/Gen. Math/4050 dated 2nd June 2008; students who have opted for General Mathematics in Std. IX and Std. X, are not eligible for admissions to the bifocal subjects. They are not eligible to opt for Mathematics in any of the streams. 4.5 At the time og applying on-line, applicants from reserved category should produce an appropriate caste certificate issued by the competent authority appointed by the Government of Maharashtra at the time of applying online, failing which their applications can not be processed in the reserved category. Such applications by default will be processed in the open category. 4.6 Applicants applying under special reservation category viz.
  • Sports, Art & Culture
  • Wards of the Employees of State Government / Central Government / Private Sector coming on transfer in the MMR on or after 1st October, 2011.
  • Wards of Servicemen and Ex-Servicemen
  • Wards of Freedom Fighters
  • Handicapped
should produce relevant documents/certificates* in original at the time of applying online, failing which their applications will not be processed under special reservation category. Such applications by default will be processed in open merit category.(*refer to documents to be submitted at the time of admission)
4.7 All allotment to the bifocal subjects shall be done by the respective junior collages from among the students admitted to that junior college through the on-line process. These admission will be done as per the rules in force and as per the demand and merit of the student. These allotments shall be done after the entire on line admission process is over.
