'Skimpy clothes to impress boss'

on Jun 19, 2013 , 09:46 am
This is sickening!

There is a girl in my office who wears cleavage showing tops and extremely short skirts to work. That woman has a pea size brain but guess what, the boss is so impressed by her that he keeps on promoting her.

Obviously the promotions are happening because of her appearance and not her work!

But this has angered me and many more like me to no end! So basically, if you start wearing revealing clothes to work, you will get promoted ! How unfair is that?

You have to focus on your work and show that in your appraisals. That is what will count the most. There is a lot of nepotism at work and everyone has favorites. Technically the HR ppl are supposed to supervise the dress code so if you want you can talk to them about it. But the main thing is that you have to show at your work that you have contributed concretely..

hmm it all comes down to how badly you wan to hurt this girl..is her promotions affecting you in your career anyway or you are just unhappy she is getting promoted fast? if the former you need to act if the later then ignore..its better not to hold grudge or be unhappy for such silly matters..if she wears simply clothes its her culture she is showing or maybe she likes being called as something that cant be named in here...

Life is unfair, what you do when life is unfair? Either sit there and curse your life or take charge and improve. There is always a solution.

well dude firstly if ur promotion have been delayed or hampered due to her getting promotion then u getting pissed off is justified but it has nothing to do with your promotion then you should not be worried at all. U have nothing to do with it.. Besides, this same very girl will go to a police station one day and register a complain about rape by her boss, if once her boss failed to give her the promotion or may be money etc. And the boss will be branded rapists and in this very online news section of Times of India you will read news about him. Thats the Indian rape laws and about 30 % of the rape cases being currently registered all over the country..

But that's not the only way to get promoted, is it? Whats your problem, her promotion or your denial of promotion, I am sure the two are not interrelated.

People use their strength for their growth and ethics never works in real world. If you could see 60% of the top level people are there because of their “people skill” not their “talent”. She did whatever she could do best. But your boss can’t stop your growth if you have potential. Just replace the boss (either change the job or department). I will not suggest to continue under him and wait for your fate. That will be the biggest waste of your time. Trust me “short-cut” never works in longer run. Good Luck.
