I was shocked to find out PDA (public display of affection) is illegal in India. According to Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, PDA is a criminal offence, which amounts to punishment of imprisonment up to three months.
I thought it was just narrow minded losers who had a problem but looks like the Indian law is the biggest moral police around!
PDA should be legalised. Like right now! No wonder India is reaping so many rapists!

Wow.... What happened to the highly civilised indian society?...All I can say is everything ans anything which got legalised has vanished from our lives and similarly all illegal things have become part of our daily lives...meaning ..Once upon a time "DA" was seen only in privacy....the moment it became PDA...only PD is prevailing & actual "A" is vanished...so guys what do you wanna leave to your next Gen?

There is nothing wrong in PDA, but one problem arises with our indian mentality is that, all facebook pages will get filled with these pictures only, where the parents will show their ire as they are also on FB most of the times to track their children.

if you start legalising PDA then there would be again question of what is the limit, what is permissible etc. though i am not against PDA but i am quite sure you don't to some one smooching next to you in a public place when you are with your family. show your affection to people in your home, pvt place etc. why make it public and show off.

Well I disagree that PDA will help in improving mind-set of society. As per me India is divided into 2 types of population. First where men and women are comfortable and understandable to each other, while other who live behind big wall with total disconnection to any casual conversation among them. This part is the one who always questioned when any man talks to any women without any reason. Most of the rape and teasing cases are done by those who came from this side and are obsessed about women and found them beyond their reach. The population of this kind is big and they constantly get frustrated when they see others having Casual Women Company or when they watch movies or TV. Biggest issue is “Fear about Law” which plays most important role in most developed country is totally missing in India. If you look at past rape cases you will see majority of them having same issue. Tragic part is even sensitive and educated Indian Man turned into Wild Beast, if any women piss him off on discussion forum. Reason: This is what he learnt from Society to control women. So buddy do you really think PDA will add any value here. I really doubt that.

Otherwise nothing! I hope you heard a Delhi Rape case where working married women went to park with BF after dinner for some intimacy and 4 more comes up including his BF's friend and her own brother-in-low and rape her with thought that she will not resist as she is already married and doing wrong ethically. There was "no fear about law". But she disappointed them by complaining and arresting all of them. Most of the man you see on the road love to question on women's character only when they see PDA as this makes them justify their own wild fantasy. Tragic but true.

The problem with a stupid is he love to give statement with no facts. So if you are not among those, please elaborate which part of my statement sound like “Gang Rapist”? Looks like you yourself not ready to accept this fact that common Indian Society is not ready for PDA. If don’t believe me, try it on the road and share your experience. :)

Your laugh gave me a good idea about your maturity level. FYI I live in Toronto where PDA is socially accepted because of people and law. Do you claim the same level of tolerance among people and police in India? I born and brought up in Delhi and can’t claim that. So come out from your dream world and accept the reality.
