Alarming level of rapes in the capital
Our country definitely needs stricter laws for
women. India,
which prides itself in worshipping all goddesses has a shocking rate of crime
against women. Just yesterday, Delhi
which is the capital of our country witnessed another such shocking incident. A
Delhi University student was raped and thrown
from a bus in Munirka area early in the morning. Will this wretched city ever
get better for women?

i support this view.its really a shock to see the rise in rape incidents even as India is fighting against such crimes..only stricter laws won't do...people also need to learn that women are also human n not garbage, they don't need to be worshiped but respected and those who say that women should be confined only to household chores just go and read the Vedas and Purans, even in those times women were treated equal, they learn't sword fighting and got equally educated as their male counterparts.

What's been commented here is absolutely true. Taking into account the Government's attitude towards the Delhi bus-gangrape case as well as the law which states that marital rape is only illegal for women below the age of 16, we can say that the men are permitted to rape women by law. What a shame! Who will want to live in such a country

The Truth is most Political Parties including Congress, BJP, etc. are really not interested in Indian People's Good (although they keep on doing all the blah blah blah that they are working for people). If there was Political Will (whether in UPA or NDA) then all crimes could have come under control. Of course, people (General Public) must also be reformed and this work must be done by parents particularly mothers in a family.

(contd) ... For example, in this recent New Delhi Gang Rape case these people were not influential people related with some politicians. They were perhaps pretty ordinary people (like driver, cleaner, etc.) . Still they didn't care about the Law.

Its not about New Delhi. I think you are missing the point. Its about any city or town or place in India or elsewhere (in places where there is a law and order problem). And the real fact is "We have a Law and Order Problem in India". Such incidents are happening in large numbers simply because "There is no Fear of Law" in the minds of even common citizen.
