What’s the big deal about SRK and Salman’s hug? At best it was a half hearted effort for the good of the people and the cameras. In fact Faking News even made glib jokes to the tune of another Khan not being happy with the quality of the hug! Much has been made of the so called spat between the two hot blooded Khans. Rumours mills have jotted the origins of their animosity to a fateful encounter on the sets of Chalte Chalte between a certain light eyed ice queen and her beau of the time. This didn’t o down well with King Khan who apparently banned the two from the sets of his films. Even going to the extent of replacing the ice queen with another err ‘Rani’.

Some others also attribute the bad blood between SRK and Salman to when Salman allegedly asked Shahrukh to do a cameo in his film to which SRK made some lukewarm excuse about not having time to do that. This touched nerve with Salman who had made time to do several cameos in Shahrukh’s films. So one thing led to another, with an all out explosion at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash in Olive restaurant in Bandra. A visibly mortified Kat was caught on camera and headline of course was splashed across every self respecting TV channel and tabloid.

Given the sordid history of the Khans, thinking they will be on kissing terms is a long shot. At least Bollywood insiders can finally exhale given that having to choose sides has taken most on a roller coaster ride. Ask anyone from Karan Johar to Katrina Kaif to Arjun Rampal to Priyanka Chopra and Aamir Khan. In an age where your sustainability depends on the Khan camp you choose, these stars can breathe a sigh of relief.

Filmmakers may not be landing that three Khan coup just yet but at least things won't be as awkward hopefully given the fact that the mud slinging will have abated to a certain extent. And SRK and Salman can happily go back to entertaining the classes and masses. While the rest of Bollywood lives happily ever after in their respective bubbles.

Whatever it is, I appreciate that Salman took the first step in this direction. Nothing will happen. They will remain like this only.
