In between his maddening schedule, PM Narendra Modi is known to diligently practice yoga, atleast one hour a day. But today, the PM chose to skip his yoga routine and pay a visit to his 97-year-old mother, Hiraba who lives with his younger brother Pankaj Modi at Raisan village near the state capital.
"Skipped Yoga & went to meet mother. Before dawn had breakfast with her. Was great spending time together," tweeted Modi before heading out for a meeting with foreign heads of the state.
This tweet triggered a laugh riot on Twitter. Soon after he posted the tweet, ‘skipped yoga’ was the main topic of discussion. Among the people who criticised Modi for the tweet, was Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who wrote, “My mother stays with me. I take her blessings every day but don't broadcast it to the whole world. I do not make my mother stand in the queue for political benefit.”
Kejriwal's took a dig at Heeraben's visit to a bank near her home in a
wheelchair right after Modi announced the note ban. She then posed with the new
Rs 2000 note. According to an NDTV report, PM Modi met his mother for just 20
minutes lat December and for her birthday on September 17.
And as usual Twitterati had a field day with PM Modi’s skipped yoga tweet:
