It's really strange but marriage should be the meeting of two people who promise to love each other no matter what. Instead in India, that's the last thing on anyone's minds when a marriage proposal comes for a girl or a boy.
Marriage in India seems to be all about money and cars and wealth being exchanged. Usually and more often from the girl's side. Everything seems to be about how rich the families are and how much money can be made through a marriage alliance. The richer the family the better the business transaction.
And yet I've seen so called educated families give in to the demand of dowry. And then live to go through the horror of losing their daughter to dowry deaths.
Why is it that love and concerns whether the couple will get along with each other are last on the list? Marriage seems to be a business in India. Do you agree?
