When it comes to Kareena Kapoor Khan anything and everything she does is news. From make headline to her size zero figure to flaunting her baby bump like a pro. Kareena will most definitely go down in history as someone who made pregnancy look cool in India. In fact, not only did she break the norms by not going under the radar, Kareena set a benchmark for women across the world.
Before her delivery, one could see Kareena Kapoor was busy finishing her work commitments and now, post motherhood; she is still doing the same. Just after 45 days of having a baby, Bebo looked resplendent as the showstopper for Anita Dongre. The actress clearly seems to be already losing post pregnancy weight. She even confessed that she's on a mission to lose all that weight, but without compromising on health.
Kareena went live on Facebook along with her dietician Rujuta Diwekar where she spoke about her eagerness to shed the extra weight, Saif, Taimur, motherhood, dieting and how she wants her fans to accept her in all phases. Here's what Kareena had to say.
Kareena Kapoor spoke at length about how she has already started eating healthy already. The stunning beauty that “I put on 18kg, but I flaunted it till I walked into the hospital… but it’s coming off with lots of love. I enjoyed by pregnancy. I ate well. And I was photographed from different angles, my double chin was seen. My friends and family were like 'I am pregnant'." I ate a lot of ghee, all the parathas, all the pizzas… I’ve eaten it all. Rujuta told me not to compromise. Eat light, every 2-3 hours, which was happening quite naturally. But, of course, things have changed now,” said a visibly glowing Kareena.
On Taimur and motherhood
A visibly glowing Bebo even said, "I would sacrifice anything for the baby. Saif is with Taimur while I am here for the chat..so he delayed his meeting so that he could stay with Taimur and I could come here for this. Taimur is never without one parent because we always ensure that one of us is with him. About being all out and open, well, I am not trying to set an example. I am just living my life and I want to feel happy about it. I want him to know that we are actors and we are like this. I hope people appreciate that."
Blessed with genes that will leave many envious, Kareena said that Taimur "His the most gorgeous son, he is very good looking. He had Pathan genes...as I had lot of ghee, I went conventional way."
On getting back to shape
According to Rujuta, Kareena's diet has been sustainable and she is glowing and looking good. "I have heard one should not have dairy products but Rujuta thinks otherwise. I have been having a glass full of milk, yogurt. I have bajra roti with ghee, jaggery, rice twice a day - morning and night or khichdi. It's about eating right kind of food and in right proportion, quantity."
Besides following the diet, Kareena said that she walks, which according to her is the best form of an exercise. "I do walk. At my house if I sit with my son in my arms he cries and so I walk around the house. He wants me to walk. He is keeping me on my toes. He is preparing me for the future, for the days to come," she said.
On Bebo’s current diet
Bebo is currently following a balanced diet which includes a bowl of veggies apart from bajra rotis brushed with ghee and lots of jaggery. Bebo said, "She gorged on lentils. Rajma and chholay were her favourite. Even now, she takes a bowl of khichdi from time to time. At times, she eats a palmful of rice for dinner. While watching TV at night, she has her glass of milk, which is a great source of Vitamin D. If she intends to drink [alcohol], she informs me three days in advance, so I can move her diet around. Eating in moderation is the key, to get great results."
